Education Assessment

The Canadian government requires you to submit an education assessment. Our lawyer used WES (World Education Services) to provide this. They basically compare your British education to teh Canadian equivalent. He created accounts in both our names and submitted our education history (normally just UK college/university level). We had to submit copies of our degree certificates and contact our universities to request them to send our transcripts to WES. You also pay the fee online (£140 each).

This process takes about 20 days and they will email and post you the results. Some of these steps can be very frustrating from a financial point of view. For example, I have a four year honours degree and the Canadian equivalent is the same, so I paid £140 for them to classify it as the same! But it's really just one of many hoops you have to jump through and hopefully the end outcome is worth it.
